I am in the process of replacing a blown head gasket. More fun than I ever imagined. However, it ran for three years with no issues.

Yeah, it's kinda hit or miss. I have a good friend that had a CRVTEC with a stock B20 block, GSR head, and boosted to 12lbs...it held up. I've seen some spin bearings a month after being built...better safe than sorry.

Hey guys, stop fooling w/this dude. Hey man, just bolt on the gsr head and you are good to go, nothing to it. Make sure everything is tight and you'll be alright.

you need!

Oil line
head
distro
plug (for bottom of head)
new headgasket
VTEC timing belt
VTEC waterpump
tentioner (optional)
VTEC ecu (without it this whole thing is pointless)
VTEC oil pump (depending what year LS block you have)
Deck the head
New spark plugs (optional)
new gaskets (optional)
new cam seals (optional)
valve cover gasket (optional)

after getting all that then it can be as simple as just slapping it on.

^^ exactly... and things like gaskets although they are technically "optional" is highly highly recommended, if you want it to work....research it...and if you want cams...i got some , i was in the process of an LS/V and changed my mind because of all the work it included

I still wouldn't say it's "as simple as slapping the head on." I would upgrade the bottom end...but I don't do stuff half assed.

it's not like JUST slapping the head on if you want it to work properly... it's better not to risk your hard earned money and just do it right the first time

ur an idiot hes gunna destroy that engine without an external oil line running to the head the head will be starved for oil with out it. u have to tap the oil galley and plug it on the block then bolt the head down and run an oil to it then ull be good to go a poor mans ls vtec is to skip the oil line well dont be a fool
