In cooler climates, running hot coolant through the TB keeps the TB from icing over because of all the cold air running though it. It also warms up the incoming air temperature. This is seen as rarely occuring but it may happen. Some ppl remove these coolant lines to reduce the incoming air temperature in an effort to get more hp. This can be a problem on some cars and cause a irratic idle.

well that all makes good logical cents, I could not figure out how to spell it the right way, It cool I am stupid! I have already come to terms with it.
I just don't see my self proforming that HP mod anytime soon.
That most stem from and old drag racing tip or some thing where longevity of the motor is of no or little importance.

I put a new IACV in. Still does the same thing. Can I bypass the FITV to see if it’s the problem? I don’t want to buy another part and it not be the problem. I do get the maintenance required light. It stay’s on and has been on for months, many.

to check your fitv........ !. take of your air intake tube. 2. locate the hole closest to the bottom of tb. 3. Start car up. 4. while the engine is cold put your finger over the hole to plug it and if you don't have suction, replace fitv. 5. let car warm up (let fan turn on). 6. put your finger over the hole again and if there IS suction then replace. Try both of these tests if either of them don't come out right REPLACE.

When I start the car the idle will start at 2rpm and go to 3rpm. It will bounce back and forth until the car is warmed up. Once it’s warmed up the rpm will drop and bounce from 1rmp to 2rmp. Some times it will stay steady at 21/2 rpms. Most of the time it’s bouncing back and forth. I brought it to have a diagnostic check done. I was told it was my IAC system or valve what ever you want to call it. So I bought a brand new oem part, put it on and nothing. I checked the wiring to see if its getting power. The wiring is good. So I think. I started to check some of the other wiring to see if they had power going to them. The only one I didn’t get was the Intake air temp sensor. My test light didn’t light up. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to.

Well any thoughts of the idle issue?????
Frustration setting in!! I hate the muffler that I have on my car so much now because of this. After I get this fixed I’m going to buy a quiet muffler. I’m going to do the check that 91civicb16a said to do on Friday or this weekend.
