VR6 vs. GS-R

a stock GS-R is supposed to run a 15.5
a stock VR6 is supposed to run a 15.1
You "Smoked it" because you've got earlier torque curves, and he probably didn't know how to drive his car.
the three time differences are minimal enough that you should be satisfied with your purchase of a GS-R homie... anyone who says they can FEEL less than half a second of a difference by guessing is either a liar, or a pro who wouldn't be asking questions as is.
i too was looking at buying a 96' vr6 test drove one and all then saw an integra and test drove that. Well 2 days latter i came home with what... a 91' LS integra i loved it so much better then the vr6 just the quick revving engine and shifting at 7000rpms is so much FING fun and just smokeing the tires on take off its just such a nice feeling and the handeling is so much better on the teg so much stiffer then the vr6 if i were u and u wanted a fun car to drive i would get a TEG just dont get in trouble with it very easy to get a speedigng ticket on the highway with it

a friend of mine bought a 95 gsr with 150k for 3 grand
bought and exhuast and intake for it and ran a 15.2 so you figure 4 grand and its almost as fast as a vr6 but the vr6 cost alot more..so depending on your budget id go with a gsr...personally im a honda fan so i would say gsr no matter what your budget is...if you were to spend the same on both cars the gsr would most likely be faster
resale value = better
parts = cheaper
horsepower= can add much more to than vr6
repair = VERY MUCH cheaper
OVERALL GSR IS BETTER
with all do respect my gf's vr6 jetta has incredible low-end torque
however for modding gsr is much better bang for the buck

well considering your on an acura forum your going to here just about everyone saying the gsr is better...and i completely agree...but in essence the final idea here is who has the most money....any car can be a perfect car w/ the right amount of cash....but im thinking u dont wanna spend nor do u have that kinda cash...besides ... GS-R's kick ass!:irock:
Never owned a VW, because im a little brand loyal to honda/acura. Im not a fan of american cars...nor vw's.
Im not going to come in here saying how the gsr is great and you'll be as happy as a fat kid eating a twinkie. Best thing for you to do, look online at like cars.com. Find the closest GSR near you from a dealer or local person and test drive it. Dosent matter the price, year etc. Just make sure its farily new and not a POS. Even if you dont give a crap about the car, just act interested so you can test drive it. Thats how i came to chose that i deffinatly didnt want a civic si, after all the hype of the 99-00 SI i test drove it and was pretty dissapointed with the very little torque that motor had. I was looking for a motor to swap into my project civic when i still had my gsr.
I terribly miss my 98 gsr, and if (when) i get another integra it will be a GSR.
I dont think i can explain how the gsr handles/ feels when you really get on it. I work kinda as a apprentice type thinggy at a garage around here. So i test drive alot of cars that come in. We got a few vr6s in. The power is decent, but i really didnt feel as comfortable in the short drives as i did in the integra.

opinions:
I prefer the feel of the double wishbone suspension over that of macpherson suspension setups. most specifically in the front.
+1 for GSR
i enjoy having loads of low end power becuase i do alot of in town driving that has me accelerating to the top of first gear and then droping down to second.
+1 for VR6
reliability is a major factor
+1 for GSR
insurance is a bitch and chances are 1/200 my car will get stolen this year
-1 for GSR
creature comforts
+1 for VR6
annoyances (broken wiper fluid lines to the back cause flooding into the rear, windows come off track, etc.)
-1 for VR6
overall performance
-even-
resale value
+1 gsr
honestly i chose the GSR over the VR6 because thats what i liked better and reliability was a major issue as it was my daily driver.
now that my GSR has been stolen and hopefully will be returned to me soon from the shop i'm contemplating selling it and buying a VR6, though i know i will most likely still miss my GSR
