After your first upgrade, people's opinions will change, some will rate your car a 10 some a 1. Bascially if you put a body kit on, all the ricers will give you higher scores (respect) and the car enthusiest will give you a 1 ( i feel like a video game giving "respect" points).

basically what i'm trying to get at is you can't please everyone no matter what you do but you play the ratio.

Anyways, enough non-sense typeing. How old are you? What's the life situation?

I'd definantly spend alot of time searching and learning about what kinda of car you want, what you'll be doing and what sort of power you'll be doing. Basically Knowing Exactly what your future goals are. After that, make your decision.

If it were me? i'd sell that low millage ls and buy another ls with more millage and go turbo.

and what do you mean life situation?.. I am a student and working also...

well, I wouldn't mind having a IS 300 automatic... but yeah.. I prefer luxury cars.. but since I have an integra.. maybe more of a luxury sports car?

I tinted the back window plus the back seats 32%

I have an GS... either way, people still see it as slow.. 4DR LS/GS.. whatever.. huh?..

...hmm...I thought about tinted the front so others can't see is it auto or manual, but then maybe stupider.. cuz the more I hide something, the more they wanna see. and if they see it. ..may be disapointed.. or give less respect for me than not even tinted my windows and showing it out in the open..

u said about the ricers would give respect if I put a body kit on an 4 DR, sedan "family" car auto.... why would they give more respect, in your opinion?..

don't worry about the video game respect points.. I enjoy your opinions..

and yeah.. please please .. I wanna hear more.. since I am a newbie with all of these tegs..

what I had before.. man, so much weaker than this.. I will someday post what I had be4.. let's just say.. it was a car, I actually parked so far, from my friend's house where there are many many people, like party-type people, .. I would park so far that they dunno what I drove.. haha

... well, compared to what I had be4, the teg is WAYYY better.. now I just wanna make my teg "respectable".. whatever that means.. or maybe a manual would get more respect... like face or whatever..

if an auto sedan, better off just get like accord, no offense, I like them, but it seem to not get those ricers think I am a racer.. and which I am not.. or appear not.. whatever.

..I duno, haha.. I am just saying whatever.. more like brain dead right now.. blah blah blah.. etc.. haha..

but yeah...

any other people's input?..

well in your post. it sounds to me you like this car and you want to mod it. Although your knowledge / direction of the car is limitied.

As far as this whole "respect" or deal i was trying to get at is depends on what crowd your modding to please (of course it should be yourself but i know what your getting at). I'm having a hard time explaining what "respect" comes from where and why.

But i can definantly give you my views on a car cosmetically that i have respect for. I personally look for a car that is clean. My difinition of clean is that when i look at the car... i don't look at the rims, the hood, the weird wing, the outragious body kit etcc... when i look at the car, i see it as a unit. Everything works together to creat 1 cool looking car. So in other words, everything works together in a blend.

As far as upgrading performence parts? I like the hear the goals of the person first and see what sort of steps they are taking / planning on to get there. So if a person simply states "i'm not in the position to get turbo so i just bought an intake for now to help the car breathe a bit. I bought this brand because i like how it looks and it's carb legal." That's respectable.

Then you've got the mis-informed guy who says "i've got a cold air intake and muffler exhuast. I'm getting a chip installed soon so i'll be ready to race." This guy is a guy i love to hate. No respect because wtf is he talking about.

anyways i'm losing graspe of what i'm talking about so basically. Read, get a performence goal, look at cars on this forums boards.... put together a goal "look" for the car and bam... that's respectable. Anyone concur or dissagree?

Welcome to my life! I own a 97 Integra Auto LS... it sucks, I know. I've never expecting to see much power from this auto car... so I'm doing minor cosmetics, wheels, suspension and possibly a front lip, and leaving her at that. I'd rather people see my car and think it looks good, than have people see my car and think it looks fast, when its not. Im planning on keeping this car til im through with college and then purchasing something else, at the moment im leaning toward an Infiniti G35, beautiful luxury cars with a bit of kick imo.

Exactly. That's what makes a car look good to me too. For example, I hate big wings with loud exhaust, but do like a nice spoiler and bit of tone from exhaust.

But respect...I'm too old @ 36 to care what others think about my rigs. I have them look good and run good for me and me only. No matter how cool you think you and your car are, somebody will look down on you. No matter how fast you are, somebody is faster.

what can I add to make my car "respectable"?.. what I mean by "respectable" is..

if someone says, ".. yes, it's an auto, but at least it has turbo"..

what can I add besides turbo, which I am probably not gonna add,.. since it's cost much much.. $$..

what to add to make it gain more hp?.. cold air intake?.. headers.. what else?.. and also does it use up more gas?

[edit]

I may want respectable in terms of exterior.. or in general, everything

I will post pictures of my teg later on in life..

I think you're too concerned with what others are thinking. Just be happy with your car, you bought it. It still takes you from A to B. If you are still insecure, just get a manual teg and start from there. I'd be more fun, i promise, and i think the forum would agree with me on this one.

I live where there are hills and a bunch of stop and go traffic. It'll be nice to have an automatic in these situations.
