Default New Car Choices?

Hey guys, im new to this forum, but i wanna get right down to the point, this past weekend me and my car met up with a tree, rain + crap tires = no traction... anyway, chances are the cars totaled, and im probobly going to get around 3 grand or so from insurance for a new car.. my last car was a 2000 mazda protege ES, im now looking into hondas and such.. particularly i like integras, do you think i could get a pretty good car or integra for 3 grand? preferably vtec, but not that big of a deal

For $3,000... you are looking at a 94-95 integra LS (non-vtec) w/ 120xxx+ miles. Clean title.

check the faq in the top of the forum for the specs on all the models but basically the gsr is the highest performance level from factory for this year...the ls is basically the same engine but non-vtec...a very common upgrade from what ive seen from the guys with ls motors is to do a ls-vtec setup...the ls is very reliable but def not as sporty as a gsr, insurance would be less though im sure

How hards the Vtec swap? just swap out the head and ecu with a GSR's? someone on here mentioned that the fastest and easiest way to a blown motor was to vtec a LS?

Assuming it is built correctly and not revved to the GSR redline unless proper reinforcements to the bottom end have been made, it will be just as reliable. Do a search on LS-VTEC to see what is involved in the process.

The best way to get a good amount of power out of an LS is boost.

the LS is not as bad as it's made out to be, it's just not as good as the GSR or type-r.. i personally chose the gsr.. but the LS isnt that bad of a machine
