nahh.. you dont want to do that. US B18C1/GSR pistons have less dome than B17A1 pistons.

consider how much money you have and work from there. the B17A1 is an outstanding platform to work from, check the link in my sig to see the work i've done to my B17, which still has room for improvement. but then again, who can turn a blind eye to an R motor.

You could pull a good CR out of some PCT (Civic Type R) pistons. 11.36:1 or so.

Jetspd: That's a lot of mods for stock cams.

really?? i didnt know that... when i compared a P72 piston to the P70 (i think thats what the B17 was) piston, the P72 seemed more domed... i do know the B17 is flat topped.

yeah i know and i believe me the motor is choking with the crappy setup i have up top. i feel it every freakin' day!! :crying: this motor was built on a strict budget and being built in increments. the short block was the first step of the project and the cylinder head was from a previous motor I had. The cylinder head is going to be reworked with a more aggressive port and possibly valvetrain. believe me those GSR cams are going bye bye as soon as i stumble across more dough.

US P72 00 pistons have a dome displacment of -.60cc while P61 (92-93 B17A1) have a dome displacement of .00cc.(truly flat with valve reliefs but not dished) You might have been looking at JDM P72 00 pistons which are domed. But US P72 A0 pistons have no dome. stroke length and piston to deck height also plays a role in what compression numbers you end up with.

hmmm..i guess i mightve looked at a JDM P72...oh well

and yes i agree, stroke, rod length, and deckheight affect compression

Keep your engine's top end, and go look for a B18C block, add some ITR internals to them, like cams and valvetrain, intake manifold, and pistons/rings, you could be making more as much power as ITR engine at a lower cost.
