Default Distributor

I need a new distributor. Would something a company off of eBay selling a distributor be allright to buy from? I would really like to save the extra $70 for something else. Are they all made the same? (besides it has a 3 yr warranty)

Get an OEM distributor. Honda/Acura engines don't like cheap aftermarket parts. I don't think the aftermarket tolerences are tight enough.

thats just a rebuilt obd1 distributor. why not bid on a used one? a new shiney dizzy is nice and all but a used one(as long as it works) will do the justice.

Well I had to repace mine and I got a Td-44U new with 1 year warranty on ebay for $130 shipped . It came with a new coil, new crank sensor, new ignition module, cap and rotor and new plugs/wires with nice refurb housing. It was really nice and well worth the money. Dont drop $366 at the dealer and dont buy a used one the ign. coils and ignitors are bad. Buy the ebay piece, don't listen to anyone who hasn't done it.

Aftermarket/used = You get what you pay for.

OEM>most

Don't take my word for it. Have you got a mechanic you trust? Ask them what they think about aftermarket parts.

FWIW I did have the distributor replaced in my 92 last year. The reason? A cheap aftermarket distributor cap and coil. They were not to spec and wiped out the factory origional distributor. My mechanic, a Honda/Acura specialist whom I have been working with for 10 years said he gets alot of business from DIYers who install cheap parts on these cars.

distributor king (also sells on ebay for about $160-170) seems to be good quality with no problems.
