Default Stock Bore of a GS-R???

What is it? I'm looking at pistons, just browsing though, and I found some JE pistons, but they're for all kinds of bore sizes. I heard that JE pistons are the best around. So I was just wondering what the stock bore is for my GS-R (in mm's). And what are the best high compression pistons to get? Keep my car's bore stock? What compression? Of course, I'm asking because I wanna go N/A with my car.

why in your right mind would you want to piss that much money away on a N/A honda motor... but to each his own! the JE pistons are nice though, i believe it's 81mm on the bore of a gsr. Wiseco are another good piston maker, my friend has some on his crotch rocket 600(honda cbr or something like that i believe) and it's a bad ass bike for a 600! i would personally drop compression and run boost, but if you're hell bent on n/a, you need to at least match or exceed itr compression!

if i go turbo, and drop compression, i have to do it all at once right? by that i mean install the lower compression pistons, get turbo cams and install those, new fuel rail, new valve job, new injectors, install turbo and piping...I would want a turbo, but i figured it would be cheaper to go N/A and get a decent amount of power out of her. but I was jw about N/A. Whatz the matter with N/A? Itz not like im planning on goin 600hp in the thing. specially since she has 146,000 miles on her...but a turbo would be sooooo nice

not necessarily, you can do it a little at a time, but there are some parts you need to do at the same time. You can run boost on a stock gsr, i'm in the works of doing that myself. I'm looking at the turbonetics kit, but I'm still in planning while i'm trying to finish saving the money necessary. Truely though it's possible to run about 8psi on stock internals reliably as long as you're not balls to the wall all the time!

81 mm.

JE makes some good pistons. If you have the money, boring it out to 84mm and sleeving it would make some nice power with some high compression pistons. The compression ratio all depends on the quality of tuning and the octane of gas available.

Keep in mind that to get power out of an N/A car requires high revs and those will put much more strain on the motor than a turbocharger making more power. And if you think it is cheaper to make good power going N/A as opposed to turbo, you are so incredibly wrong.

If you don't have a huge budget, JDM ITR pistons (P73-00) or USDM B16A pistons (PR3) raise compression to around 11.3:1 when using a OEM head gasket. This is a good compression ratio if you daily drive your car and don't want to use higher than 91 octane.

Of course, you will need a lot of other mods (valvetrain, tuning, exhaust, etc) to make full use of the higher compression ratio.

werd plus you can get brand new type-r pistons for about 170... though i wont say where because you as a vendor might want to suggest your own alternative
