Default b18c1 - msd ignition install

Hey all, im installing an msd ignition (6AL) in on my b18c1 motor. theres 4 wires to install into the distributor. I've got 2 of them installed.

(MSD SIDE) (STOCK DISTRIBUTOR SIDE)
RED -> Black / Yellow (12 volt source)
WHITE -> White / Blue (electronic ignition amplifier output)

But i'm left with 2 others i need to install

(MSD SIDE) (STOCK DISTRIBUTOR SIDE)
ORANGE (+) Positive terminal of coil
BLACK (-) Negative terminal of coil

the screws inside my distributor are being difficult to remove, and with just the cap removed it appears I can't see the positive and negative terminals. Anyone know what color of wires would connect to the positive and negative terminals already, and would it be okay to just splice into these from the outside? If not, where are these terminals exactly?

Why do you need to install an MSD? What have you done to your car to make it necessary to upgrade the ignition? Stock ignition works very well, and you should not fuck w/it unless absolutely needed. But since your doing it anyways, don't forget to remove the stock coil in the distributor otherwise your gonna fry some shit up. It sounds like your off to a bad start already. If you just took the cap off and can't see the wires then I am pretty sure you did not remove the coil inside the distributor. Hash mark the top for a line up later and the distributor needs to come off so you can see what you are doing and do it right.

there was another aftermarket ignition that was in my car when i got it, but it was stolen recently, so i bought an MSD ignition to replace it. There is a whole list of mods already done on this car, I don't know even know what all is done yet. I got this car as collateral from a dude that owed me money.

Actually, it was another MSD ignition, and the 2 wires I already have swapped out were ran to the same locations as i ran the new ones, but there didnt seem to be any wires going to the positive and negative terminals that i can see.. which seems weird to me. I do know that the ignition i bought is a lot more beefy that the other msd ignition. thanks for the tip on checking the stock coil, ill look to see if its been upgraded but I'm having issues getting the rotor off at the moment. the bolt is facing what i think is the magnetic pickup, its hard to get at, should i crank the bolt in the middle of the block on the side with the timing belt? that should turn the rotor i imagine, but i dont wanna crank it if it'll screw anything up.

I knew there had to me to the story. Make sense now. Are you going to be running an external coil? As far as getting the rotor off, just flip the key until the nut comes around and is actually facing you. That's an easy way to do it. It'll be a socket type nut. It won't turn by hand cause that would mean your turning over the motor.

It's usually part of the upgrade. Otherwise it would probably not pose a problem to ise the stock coil. As long as you are not running 2 at the same time.

Okay, so I was busy for a couple days, just got back to this install. Now i tried to bump the motor with the key, but it wouldnt bump. I tried charging the battery, still nothing.

When I first had my ignition installed, i tried turning on my car 10-15 times, 10 of which while having jumper cables from another car. If i recall right, it was bumping until near the end when it just started making the whirr of the fan when i turned the key. What do you think? I think my starter may have already been in bad condition, i dont want to put ideas in your heads but thinking about possibilities. Thx
