Default Just turbocharged the Type R

What's up guys. I finally took the plunge and turbocharged the Type R. Along with the complete turbo kit/parts I added a Fluidyne Radiator, Complete 3" Exhaust including 3" downpipe, new injectors and a fuel pump. This was dyno tuned with Hondata, I decided to go all out in one shot. Max Power= 289.63whp Max Torque= 187.39, all of this running at 7 psi. I don't intend to run any more boost until I upgrade the internals a bit. It runs strong right now so that's enough. I still have my A/C too. Here's some pics.....

Looks like you have a very solid setup there. It is good to see that you haven't skimped on the fuel management at all.

It looks like it is running very, very lean for a turbo setup with the super high compression an R has. You should be shooting for less than 12:1 and it doesn't even dip below that on the AFR chart. Maybe I am just on crack.... h:

That is fawking awesome! I now officially wish that I were you... JK.

But I'm afraid that Shmoo could be right about the compression. Of course it's possible that I too am on the crack.... h:

Wow, thanks guys. Thanks for the feedback on the Dyno Chart, I can't read it that well. It's funny you should say it looks to be running lean because it actually runs rich at start up, then when it warms up a bit it's at the end of stoich/beginning of rich section on one of those "rare top of the line, 100% accurate A/F gauges!!" haha, j/k. But that's what it says, anybody else's opinion on the dyno? Thanks again guys.

Hey welcome to the site brotha. I'm sure some other people will have more to say about it after a while. Just be patient I guess. Once again that is a beautiful car with a great set-up. :goodjob:

That is awesome. How much did the parts cost you. Also, are the injectors a little overkill for that setup or no?

As long as he can control them (which it looks like he did), it will put less strain on them since they have to run at a much lower duty cycle to maintain the same amount of fuel as smaller injectors. And it allows room for more boost, if desired.
