I'm not sure what the exact MPG is with the turbo, it's not too bad but it's noticably lower. Still stock internals, all about the tuning. This setup was dyno tuned with Hondata the day it was put in. 7psi is the highest this motor will see with stock internals. Jan's Type R has been running over 2 years on stock internals at 10psi if I'm not mistaken. This car does not get beat on. I get yelled at by friends when I'm driving about why I don't boost just for the heck of it. This car has seen nothing but 93 Octane since I purchased it. I bought it 2 years ago completly stock with 42,000 miles on it from a 49 year old hospital executive with 2 kids. He purchased it brand new and it still has all the oil change receipts in the glove box and judging from the mileage recorded on each receipt, he drove this thing like 6,000 miles the last year he owned it. Something tells me he didn't race or beat on it much either.

you think i'll be able to boost my JDM R motor with 7psi on 91 octane safely? of course i plan to get it tuned correctly but with neptune instead of hondata. sucks that we only get 91 over in arizona.

4 years, I've driven it quite hard over the years, I have over 100 passes on the setup, I'm upgrading to forged internals this winter, I'll be sure to document the condition of the stock parts. BTW..I'll still be running stock sleeves

I would be even more skeptical with the JDM R motor because it has even higher compression at 11:1 than the USDM R at 10.6:1. Then again, I see Turbo RSX-S motors a lot and they've got 11:1 too so who knows. You might be able to get away with it. 91 octane would be kinda iffy.
Jan that's awesome man! Definitely let me know the condition of the stock parts. I'm anxious to hear how the forged parts are on stock sleeves too. Keep up the good work. Keep in touch.

yeah, i was iffy on the high compression, but from researching hopefully it would be fine with low boost and good tuning. i just dont want to take apart the engine and get the internals rebuilt since its my only mode of transportation. thanks for the replies.
