Pls correct me if im wrong.
Im also looking into buying a header. But undecided which way to go.
Maybe you guys can help me with this one?
Note. I recently installed a catback system ( apexi N1 ) a few months ago
option # 1 Keep Apexi N1 & get JDM header
#2 keep Apexi N1 & get Hytech header
#3 Get rid of the N1 & get the Hytech Full exhaust
#4 Keep N1 & go with Spoon Header ( Opak Racing is local )
im also getting an Engine Management as soon as I get the exhaust deal out of the way.
Any suggestions?

what header and exhaust to get depends mostly on the rest of the engine. what other mods do you have? what are your goals for the engine? an ems is not needed until you start to modify the internals and need to fine tune everything.
Well, so far only the comptech intake & icebox & apex N1 catback.
But i was thinking as soon as I get the header I will have Opak Racing slap on cam & cam gears along with the EMS. Will the EMS overkill for that type of mods or what?
Well like I said before im new to this Type R deal. Its just a little too slow for me considering I use to drive a Cobra for my everyday car. I know its two different cars but I would like to get more HEAT from it.

okay, I feel really f**ing stupid right now.
Whats the difference between ECU & EMS?
Hondata s200, VAFC, etc. Arent they all EMS
?
Cuz when I said EMS, I was talking about the Hondata s200
Pls explain, cuz if I dont get this right I might just sell the R & get me another Mustang. Ill definetly know what to do with that.
I just hate how Mustang's depreciate in price & always breaking after you beat on it a few ( or always
) times . I had two from the past & as much as I love those cars I also hated it, fun but also alot of problem.
Im actually starting to get attached to my Type R

Either you go with the piggy back or replacing the whole eCU w/ stand alone.
I was just a little confuse when you said " why go with engine management " from your earlier reply. ( GSSR )
So basiclly ur recomending for me to go with the piggy back system over the stand alone system right.
ok...
ems stands for engine management system. it's a generic term used for all tuning devices.
piggy backs are devices (vafc) that are wired into the oem ecu harness with the stock ecu.
standalone's are ecu's that take the place of the stock one.
