Default When 1st Tuning Your Teg

I WAS JUST LOOKING AT WHAT EVERY1 THOUGHT ABOUT STARTING FROM STOCK WITH YOUR TEG. DO YOU DO THE CLUTCH KIT, FLYWHEEL, SHORTSHIFTER, AND ALUMINUM DRIVE TRAIN ALL IN 1. (WHICH U KNOW I CAN'T AFFORD ) OR WHAT WOULD B THE MOST ECONOMIC N SENSIBLE THINGS 2 DO 1ST. CLUTCH KIT IS NOT OPTIONAL.

Holy Shit man, calm down with the all caps. From stock, most people would say start small with the basic, Intake/Header/Exhaust. From there I'd do suspension. You can do a shortshifter if you prefer it, but I like my stocker. It's all about personal preference...do what you want to do and in the order you want to do it.

From experience with other my bmw, i'd suggest trying to do as much stuff as possible inside the tranny as you can in on pull. If you are having a mechanic do your clutch job, you'll be paying two or three times to take the tranny out and that is probably one of the more expensive jobs at a shop. If its possible for your budget, i'd suggest you get the flywheel and clutch kit at the same time and put those in.

I've not seen a SSK for an integra, but if its like most shift linkages, you probably wont have to have the tranny out, so that could wait and you could probably do that later when you get enough money. The drive train parts are also outside of the tranny and could be done in the garage im sure with the right tools and some jacks.

Good luck, hope this helps...

Damn i wish i could actually get an integra lol!

Step 1: Turn off your Caps Lock and ease off.

To answer your question: If your clutch is dying, then use that opportunity to upgrade to an aftermarket clutch. Otherwise, leave it alone....and focus on Steps 2&3.

Step 2: Form a plan about your performance goals and the health of your engine.

Step 3: Execute the modification plan.
[Example: If you plan to turbocharge your Integra at a later date, there is no point in buying an exhaust header.]

---
• So what are your priorities?
[Auto-X? 1/4 mi Drag? A combination of the 2?]
• How much money do you wish to spend?
[An average turbocharger system will cost roughly $3500-$4000.]
• How reliable do you need the car to be?
[Daily driver, I assume.]

theotherdave is good with words....i say get a clutch such as the exedy oem replacement and then start doing your basic bolt ons for some more power. Like theotherdave said you need to form a plan on what you want to achieve as far as speed and reliability.

turbo's connect to an exhaust manifold to create boost, because of their positioning they need specialized downpipes and manifolds and not a stock fitting header.
