i dont think internals matter with a controller...doesnt that just change the "kickin" spot of the VTEC? and just gives u specs and wat not... i dont know

as far as i know, you don't need to have any mods to simply run a vtec controller but a vtec controller alone doesn't give you any HP. The purpose of it is to bring out the full potential of aftermarket internal components with different characteristics from the stock ones.

I didn't know Vtech made controlers. I know they make a pretty good phone though.

The question is, do you need a Vtec controler.

Wow...that joke was funny 2 years ago. Just give the guy a break man, no need on ripping on him if he's new.

You don't need a VTEC Controler for a CAI and Exhaust...to make one really useful you should have i/h/e, intake manifold, cams, cam gears and all that good stuff. If you were to buy a VTEC controller i'd say go with Apexi's VAFC also, so you can do the air fuel ratio and control your vtec rather than just controlling the VTEC.

ever since i put my Skunk2 IM on, i have mad vtach y0 :chuckles:

Making vtech phone jokes isn't as funny as it was after the first 1,000 times. So calm down.

The stock vtec engagement point is set there for a reason. Unless you have the mods to necessitate the movement of the vtec point for more power, you don't need it. And exhaust and intake don't warrant the movement of the engagement point, unfortunately.

yes the controller is there if you have made some heavy modifications to the engine
leave the factory engagement point alone
