...i just noticed you said the hose is disconnect 'cause of your intake? there's no nipple on your intake tube to accomodate the hose? If not then you're intake's cheap.

The thing is dude....if the hose was connected you wouldn't see anything. How do you know that what's coming outta the nipple isn't supposed to be going back into your intake?? I can't see your engine running so can't tell what's coming out.......all i do know is that people who put "breathers" on that nipple will get in shit from cops 'cause it's "pollution" you're spewing into our environment.........not emissions legit. I don't even know the history of your engine etc. i can't magically come up with an answer for you on the slim amount of info you provide. If you think we're too slow in answering you then go pay $$ and have a shop tell you what's up don't gimme any WTF's h:

Explain please.. I don't understand how just changing to a breather can cause pollution...

...with a proper hose the gases go from the valve cover go back into your engine...without the hose and with or without a breather don't they just diffuse into the air?...

Air goes into the PCV system through the valve cover, so if it is filtered by a breather filter or the intake system, it is getting the same air at the same pressure.

You are thinking about the breather tank at the back of the engine block that has the PCV valve attached to it. The hose carries oil vapor in through the intake manifold to be burned. There is no way you could change that part of the system around since it is all dependent on manifold vacuum.

I am sure the breathers are illegal. For what reason, I don't know but if the politicians and lawmakers can find something to bitch about, they sure will, even if it has nothing to do with pollution.

Im having the same problem and I think it has to do with one of the exhaust valves. Im losing power and I have smoke coming out the valve cover and its exhaust. If you just have smoke then it may be a seal. Im not to sure but im taking mine apart today so I might be able to tell you more laater. And no there isnt supposed to be smoke coming out of the vent on the top regardless if its connected or not. The valve area is more of a small vaccum. No pressure or smoke should be coming out.
