Default Clicking noise

I will try to explain this the best i can. A couple of weeks ago I changed my oil. When i was finished i started up my car and let it run. It started making a clicking noise and i shut off the engine. I started it again and it still made the clicking so I shut if off and left it for a day. Well when i went back to it and started it the next day it was fine. I drove it for about fifteen minutes and it started clicking again so it doesnt do it all of the time. It makes the noise up until about 1500 rpm and when i go higher then that it stops clicking. What could this be? I also notice that my exhaust is spitting out some water.

Have you done a valve adjustment recently? Other than that, I wouldn't know unless I was there and could see the problem.

Water is normal when the car is first warming up.

How loud is the clicking? I know that using fuel with a lower than recommended octane level can cause some minor clicking... but integras use regular so you would've had to have gotten some crap gas... but your problem doesn't sound like that, because it only does it at certain times... try to make some more observations and give more info.

I'm picturing the boat engine in Jaws when the black smoke is pouring out of the hatch... is it that bad or just minor?

You may have done this already, but, check your oil level.

Sounds like valve tap to me, it's normal. A valve adjustment would help

Did you use the same oil in the car? Same brand and weight as the last change. Cars will respond to different oils in different ways. Sounds normal to me.

i think i may have the same problem except mine does it when its just idling, i hear it the most when i first start up my car. but even after its been drivin i still hear it, if i have no music on and the windows shut i can still hear it too. its a clicking sound that just keeps going and going but its not too loud. my mechanic told me its just the vavles and its normal but i know that, i think i need a vavle adjustment too. if thats what i need how much does that cost to have done?

Why don't you just do it yourself and save yourself over $100?

It isn't hard, just tedious. But I would get it fixed whether or not you decide to do it yourself.

i would do that but don't have the tools for it or really any experience and i'm afraid of mess anything up. also my car has been making this clicking noise for the last 15 - 20k miles on my car, is this bad and will it get worse or do anymore damage?
