OK. I took the Airbox off the car and noticed a huge differance in sound. Hitting 3,000rpms the engine gets louder and the vtec is really heard. Not sure why it took the airbox coming off for it to sound like a GSR should but oh well.
wire up a vtec light...its pretty easy, and its a surefire way to make sure vtec is engaging. vtec on a gsr with a stock ecu should engage at 4400 rpm, with the secondaries opening up at 5600 rpm. i drilled a small hole into the plastic right behind my shifter and put a green LED in. just splice a wire into the vtec solenoid, run it through the firewall and into the car to the LED, then run another wire from the LED for a ground. i think its kinda cool at least.
