Default cold air intake

I have a 1997 acura integra GSR v-tec (no mods). Would it be better to put a cold air intake system in the car or leave it stock?

Welcome to HAN if your into modding your car then yes it would be better to upgrade your intake system. If modding is not your cup of tea then leave it stock. You are on an enthusiast messege board so most of the answers would be to change the intake as well as the header and exhaust as well the suspension and anything possible that you can do to your car without over doing it if you know what I mean.

Deff upgrade. Go with the AEM V2 cold air system, it's bad ass. It also help with engine performance. If you don't want to over do it, then intake and exhaust is what you want to do.

the v2 isnt worth the money. id say just get a regular AEM CAI, they go for around 180-200. the v2 is around the 250 range and it might give you maybe one more HP than the regular AEM CAI, definately not worth the extra cash.

I currently have a V2 intake on LS coupe, and personally I think it's awesome, plus I don't want to worry about the rain..

I was under the same decision I found the cold air for like 155. shipped.

and the V2 for 237 shipped...

For the record, on B series VTEC engines, the AEM SRI outperforms the CAI in the entire dyno-able range.

V2 = worthless snake oil in our cars.

I agree the regular is better money and also it is a known fact that there is only a 1 to 2 hp difference so just get the regular AEM. Also the SRI does out preform the CAI

well if you got the money i'd bore out my intake manifold so its single plenum and get the OEM ITR intake
really good gains and gives a stock look
if you really are looking for a tuner look then go for the AEM SRI or any other brand just get a good filter ie. K&N
cause a tubes a tube IMO
