Default Shift knob question

Does anyone know for sure (i.e. personal experience) if an OEM honda shift knob part number 08u92-s6m-200a (5 speed shift knob that fits 01-05 Civic; Accord 03-05; RSX) will fit on a skunk2 short shifter for a 99 Integra? I am guessing it will, but want to make sure.

Thanks

Consult the RSX / 02+ Civic Si forum for that. We don't cover RSX info in this forum. h:

I'm 99% sure that the knob is threaded on and secured with Loctite adhesive.
So it will probably take a lot of elbow grease to get it off.

Stop that shit, dammit. :chuckles:

:squint: My work here is hard enough as it is.

To work toward a solution... (or at least entertain you ungrateful little...)

Here's a trick from the 240 community that may work if you cannot get the knob off otherwise.

From what I recall, Nissan used thread-locker to secure their knobs. What most people wound up doing was to remove the shifter lever assembly altogether, wrap the knob in shop towels and....wait for it.....park a car on top of the knob.

Preferably a truck with big ol' squishy sidewalls.

Then, with the knob held captive by 5000 lbs of Ford / Chevrolet / GMC / Dodge, they would use a big ol screwdriver or long circular bar through a hole at the base of the shift lever to break the thread-locking compound.

Now granted, this may not work at all on an RSX.
I've never inspected an RSX shift lever, so you may be forced to find another creative solution.

Frankly, if it takes that much work to remove a shift knob, I'd leave the stock one on.h:

Not really. A leather OEM RSX shift knob is way better than an Integra shift knob. How about you do some research before you post stupid biased bullshit?

I was going to be more tactful... but then again, subtlety is overrated.
Let's not start WW III tonight, okay?
