need help with rotor.

Default need help with rotor.

hey fellow peeps.

im trying to do a tuneup on my 95 teg. got all the wires, sparkplugs and distributor cap done. the only problem is getting the rotor off. i unsrewed it but that damn thing just wont pry off. any advice ???

If you unscrewed it, it should come off. Pull as hard as you can and it should come off. I changed my rotor once and I had to pry it off with a screwdriver and pliers. Keep trying.

thanks for the advice, but it seems i might crack the plastic off or something else knowing my luck. could i really mess up my rotor by prying the mother off?

If you are not pulling it straight off it can sort of get tight, I wiggled mine a bit and it slid right off

when I was replacing my rotors I had to give a good smack with a hammer. A very very very very small amount of rust had managed to practically unite the hubs and rotors. (I think 1/4 came off without the hammer, which I just used my fist to hit it with). I know it sounds kinda archaic, but hey, they were warped beyond your wildest dreams and I was just careful not to damage anything else it was connected to or near.

He was talking about the rotor for the distributor, not brake rotor.

I broke mine getting it off because I didn't know there was a screw through the side of it holding it on. I noticed it after I broke the old one and after I got the screw out (which was kind of a pain) the rest of the rotor came off fine.
