just get a good one, like from http://www.fiberimages.com ..this is from their website:

"The Integra Type-R was totaled in a roll-over accident. It was equipped with one of our hoods. Which proves without a doubt that we have the strongest available. The hood remained in one piece as can be seen above, with barely any scratches."

i think they look pretty nice too, i wanna get one for my car soon.

FiberImages' website had videos of them dropping tires onto, jumping up & down on, and driving over their hoods.

All is well

FiberImages is probably the best out there for the money, as far as functionality goes. It should be the lightest, since they do not use a full fiberglass frame on the bottom side (only around the perimeter of the hood, yet it is still strong as seen on that ITR and on their website). No they do not always fit great, but usually they do.

I think carbon fiber hoods are great and all, but it seems like everyone and their moms got one. I'd hate to see this trend get played out! Nevertheless CF hoods are tight!!!Go for it! Just make sure you get the ones with support under the hood! Try looking for a front lip also! Good Luck

now they are for looks. perfect example. VIS hood. look nice, but weighs almost as same as stock.

go for the lightest hood you can find, which does fit well, and get some hood lock or whatver they are called.
My VIS weighs much less than stock. Stock is a biotch to carry around. THe new hood is light as a feather comparitively. Fits great too. Its true that some people who dont know what it is think its wierd.

One of my brothers asked me when I was gonna paint the rest of my car. THen he said it looked like a police car cause it was black in front and white for the rest. Made me laugh.

I have been considering buying a Teg with a dented hood. Would a CF hood look good on a black G2 teg, or would OEM be better? Where can I buy the hood? Thanks!

With a carbon fiber hood you'll need hoodpins to keep it from flying off.

I would much rather get an aftermarket hood vs. paying for an oem one. Fitment is always an issue with aftermarket parts, but many people have gone the CF hood route with little or no trouble.

Black CF hood on a black car looks like krap IMO; on a yellow or white car it would look OK (although most people will ask you why you didn't paint your hood). If I were to get an aftermarket hood for my black teg it would be a clean vented hood (think Mugen) of some sort, and it would be painted. My hoodpins should be enough to show that mah hood aint stock h:

There's a Group Buy going right now for VIS OEM and Invader styles. The guy quoted me $350 for the hood plus $120 shipping. I was thinking about doing this, since my hood got messed up in a recent accident and I can get insurance to cover it. $470 sounds like a good price, does anyone know any cheaper?

I have the Fiber Images one, fitment is a little off, still have to play with washers and etc. It matches my factory color pretty close, so the contrast isn't that far but still has that CF standout.(although I still love white cars with CF).
