Increase performance? Maybe alittle.
Risk of it decreasing performance? Yes, it is a risk.

I have a skunk 2 chip in my 00 gsr you will feel a big difference in vtec especially at 6,800 vtec will pull really hard but I dont know if its my ecu but I have a hard time starting like the car will start then die I have to start the car and hold it at idle for about a minute but if you think its worth it go for it peace
