This is a good spot to encourage y'all to write your state representatives and voice your opposition to AB 2683. It will make the smog certification process even worse and more draconian. There are tons of CARB legal performance parts.

Unless I read the report wrong from leginfo.ca.gov... I think AB2683 passed on August 4th.

SEMA is apparently preparing to block the bill's implementation with a suit based on due process. So we're not looking too good here. *sigh*

Pardon the interruption. As you were. h:

hmm... I am not familiar with this AB 2683. What are the changes going to be?

Are you also saying if I get the Evo 2, the carb sticker of the exhaust will be worthless?

I have DC sports 4-1 header, AEM CAI, and Evo 2 Exhaust and I live in California. As long as you leave the cat alone, you should pass with just those basic upgrades.

ABOUT AB2683:
AB2683 has - for now- stopped the rolling 30-year smog exemption in California.Presuming this law is enforceable and is enacted, then cars built after model year 1975 will be required to undergo emissions testing indefinitely. :a:

The ratification of AB2683 has no bearing on your choice of parts now. You'll still need CARB-legal parts if you want to pass the visual examination of a CA emissions test.

-----
ABOUT CATBACKS AND CARB:
Cat-back exhausts are the only parts that don't have bearing on emissions and the State understands this. Thus, CARB EO numbers are rarely issued.
The only concern is that your exhaust is no louder than 95 decibels at any point. So get whatever system fits your budget and your taste, but beware that an overly loud exhaust system is not worth the hassle here.

Your setup looks similar to the one I have in mind. Have you passed your smog test yet?

Thats good to hear, I like the RS*R and Evo2 so I'm guessing the tones on these are lower than the 95 d.

Sweet, thanks for the feedback.

I am going to get the AEM short ram for sure. The DC header seems very popular with the Integras so there is a good chance I'll get that in the future. The exhaust is between two different ones... the RS*R and the Evo. I want a semi-silent one but I like the tip of the Evo more. Decisions, decisions... thanks for all the info guys!
