ABOUT AB2683:
AB2683 has - for now- stopped the rolling 30-year smog exemption in California.Presuming this law is enforceable and is enacted, then cars built after model year 1975 will be required to undergo emissions testing indefinitely. :a:

The ratification of AB2683 has no bearing on your choice of parts now. You'll still need CARB-legal parts if you want to pass the visual examination of a CA emissions test.

-----
ABOUT CATBACKS AND CARB:
Cat-back exhausts are the only parts that don't have bearing on emissions and the State understands this. Thus, CARB EO numbers are rarely issued.
The only concern is that your exhaust is no louder than 95 decibels at any point. So get whatever system fits your budget and your taste, but beware that an overly loud exhaust system is not worth the hassle here.
