I just want to report back on the new Kumho Ecsta ASX I just had mounted on my car. It is a stock 99GS and these tires are 205-50-15. I bought them from Tirerack @$64 each and had them mounted and balanced at Costco for $10.00 each. I really like these tires. 1. they are very quiet compared to the stock michelins both on city streets as well as on the freeway. 2. they seemed to have excellent traction on dry surface. I have only experienced once on wet surface with these tires. I was going onto the freeway through a typical loop on-ramp in CA. The road was wet with water from the sprinkler. I thought this would be a great time to test out these tires. I punched it and the tires help on to the road very well. So far, I am glad I replaced the stock tires. Time will tell as how these tires will wear.

The Ecsta ASX is a nice all season tire, but it's not really all that useful as an autocross tire.

looking at the azenis, they dont have much tread at all, they are almost slick-looking, and while this looks great for autox what about daily driving, and in wet conditions, will they have any grip?

they're ok in the wet as long as its not standing water. They're fine for the street.

they are good enough in the wet, as long as you know how to drive in the wet.
