Hmm, I'm confused by your posts as you stated before your brother goty an ECU off ebay and it started. now you say you ordered a used one and it doesn't start???? Please explain, I have never heard of an ECU missing a chip. Most thiefs aren't too smart. Whole ECU's are pretty cheap. If an Acura dealership says it's not the immobby then what did they recommend??? Give good information maybe start over with your story and don't leave anything out. I've had tons of factory training on immobby's and am considered the best person at my dealership on the system.. If I can help you into the right direction i will.

 

It was not me that said my brother got it on eBay. That was another member. Check the user names of the postings.

All I know at this point is that the ECU that we got used was put in and the car still does not run.

 

are you sure you got an 00-01 ecu?
open up the ecu, and ensure that it looks somewhat altogether.

i posted my obd1 95 LS manual ecu, yours might look something like it.

 

With the used ecu in does the immoby light flash or come on on the dash? It's the green "key" icon.

 

People take out the ECU for the newer cars so they can key the ignition and start the car without having to worry about coded keys..Someone was going to come back and steal your car maybe..
