Default plugs?

I can't decide which spark plugs to buy. I've heard a general consent that Denso and NGK are the way to go, but which kind platinum, iridium, copper? Theirs all different kinds of Denso's and NGK's not just types of metal but two prong four prong V-power etc. Please help and dont ignore this thread!

I just use copper NGK "V-power"... just don't forget to change them every 10K miles.

Assuming you stick with the stock NGK PFR6G-13 platinums the Helms manual says they should be changed every 60k miles or 48 months, whichever comes first.

I would stick with those or if you want a cheaper option that you can tell yourself performs a *tad* better, you can get the NGK copper plug of the same heat range as stock. Off hand I couldn't tell you the part number though.

I consider it good practice to use copper plugs. It makes me check them more often, and thus I have a pretty good idea how my engine's doing about twice a year or so

The stock NGK PFR6G-13 platinums should be gapped from 1.0 to 1.1 mm (0.039 to 0.041 in) and then torqued down to 13 lb/ft.

What sort of damage was done by bad plugs?

I believe it should be gapped 0.051 in.

earlier i posted bout engine lag which turned out to be caused by a bad O2 sensor but i still misfire sometimes it seems, not quite as bad as before so therefore im checking my spark plugs to see if they've gone bad.
