Heatproblem... Change radiator?
Hi..
I have a problem with extensive heat in my enginebay due to my exchange of header,cams and valvecover..
The car is a Civic equipped with a GS-R engine.
So I need to cool down the tempature alot..
I have thoughts of replacinge my stock radiator with a Fluidyne, but they are pretty expensive to buy here in Sweden. Count about $590 for a radiator.
But does anybody know if there are any OEM radiators that are more efficient than my stock? I can´t buy a fulllenght radiator ´cause of my AC radiator.
Any tips?

Heat isn't a problem unless the guage reads hot... it sounds like you're saying it just feels hot. A healthy engine will generally run between 175-195 degrees F, hot enough to burn your hand. Changing the header and cams will have little significant impact on the engine's operating temperature, the valve cover absolutely none.
If you are worried about it, swap in a 94+ Integra or del Sol radiator. Much cheaper then a Fluidyne, not to mention the Fluidyne is overkill for just a B18C.

I already have the GSR radiator in my car..
And the valve cover DOES make a significant tempature rise in the engine bay. I have a thinner cover that original so it´s gets "hotter" that the OEM
I´m about to install Mugen thermostat and Mugen Thermoswitch, also to wrap tempature bandage on the header and install a vented hood..
Hopefully this will help of a bit..
But in anyway I wonder if there is a more powerful OEM radiator on the market..

Once again, underhood temperature has nothing to do with the radiator when it comes to cooling it. Remember, all the heat the radiator sheds is blown right into the engine bay, so changing the size of the radiator will have no impact on how much heat is dumped into the engine bay.
I don't know what valve cover you're using, but you can't transfer heat any faster then the stock cover does. It's under 1/8' already, and aluminum sheds heat fast. The only thing that will keep the cover cooler would be an oil cooler, and there is absolutely no good reason to have one of those on a stock or lightly modified B18C.
There are three major things you have to worry about when it comes to temperature. Here, in order of importance:
1) Engine coolant temperature, regulated by the thermostat and radiator.
2) Engine oil temperature, regulated by the engine coolant temperature and an oil cooler/thermostat if you have one (Hondas don't, stock)
3) Intake temperature, which depends only on where the filter is located and if it and the intake tube is insulated.
*For turbo cars, there are a couple other points (like intercoolers) that I won't get in to.

honda makes two radiator for the integra. one is by denso (black plastic on top) and the other is by showa (orange-brown plastic on top).
the one by showa is a lot better. (dont know the real name, but it starts with an S).
its about half an inch thicker then the denzo.
