How Do I remove the silencer on my OBX muffler?

How do I remove the silencer on my B2 OBX muffler with rolled tips? I removed the screw on top and tried to pull it out but all that happened was I grunted and the thing didnt budge... is it welded on there and all I can do is tune it with that little crappy turning thing? please help

My buddy's civic had an OBX muffler with the silencer tip; had the same problem you did. How did he get it off? The silencer fell off one day when he was driving

Actually before that incident he was able to pry it off somehow, so it is possible. The screw on top; doesn't it lead to something bigger near the end of the tip? I'm trying to base this off of memory so bear with me...

i just bought an obx muffler, and ran into a similar problem. it was really wedged in tightly. i ended up sticking a rod through the inlet, and just pounding the silencer out from the inside. it moved a little bit at a time, but it came out with no damage.
