Does anyone have a Vortech Supercharger?
Hey people, I just want to start by saying "Hi" to everyone because this is my first post on this site. I just recently bought a py 2000 itr and im realy interested in the vortex supercharger. I'm wondering if anybody here has one installed or has riddin in an r with one. Have you heard of bad experiences with this set up? I like the fact that it's carb legal, cuz i live in cali so thats why im not realy shooting for a turbo. Any consumer information would be greatly appreciated.
The *Vortech* Supercharger, yes. I believe that Superstreet had a GSR they put that S/C on. From what I hear and read, that thing is really only good for topend... AKA dyno queen or peak numbers.
If you're worried about creating power with forced induction for the amount of money you're going to spend.... I believe Greddy just put out a carb legal kit specifically for the R

I would still like to hear from anybody that has got to use one in there R.
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com for anybody interested.
Eh, I think that's a misconception. A turbo power curve can be determined via the size of the turbo. You can get a smaller turbo and have that thing spool up earlier in the RPM band.
The Vortech is definately made for higher displacement motors. For the money you'll spend regardless, I'd get get the Greddy kit for the R. Only reason I say that is because I believe it's CARB legal... Otherwise I'd say go custom!

Well I think I'm going to hold off untill Greddy puts up some numbers so I can compair cost to power gains. I bet it's going to be a close call in the end with the vortech supercharger claiming these numbers.
298/195 at 8psi on an otherwise stock R
And I would be shocked to see the complete greddy kit under 4k. I would still like to meet someone with this kit installed to get an actual consumer report.
