does anyone know what the STOCK ITR can pull in terms of top speed? I want a Road&Track kind of answer here. I dont want to see people saying you can do 155 in stock R, cause thats total horse shit. i know GSR is suppose to be able to do 130 on the dot, is this because of HP or a govern or RPM? Im guessing the ITR is probably around the 140's, let me know, but like i said, only if you KNOW, not a guess

 

IIRC, George posted a little story over on Honda-Tech a while back (9 months ago?) about actually driving a Type-R at 150+ (I believe it was stock). You might want to look over there or ask George.

 

A stock R will hit between 140-150 before redline in 5th. It's not that big of a deal.

Please remember not to try this at home. Very few road courses will ever get you out of 4th gear ~130.

 

so far the most I have seen is 153 on the speedo, stock.

 

well i know the ITR, maxes at 120 in 4th.....

 

i've taken her to 151 but that was when i first got the car...completely stock

 

On a very cold night I hit about 154 it past all the numbers on the odemeter. NO FUCKING LIE!!!

 

I did about 145mph awhile back but was still inching. Hey gsr ain't too bad k. My brother has a gsr that max out at 139. So there. plus not all cars are the same. :idea:

 

I vouch for the maxing out at 120 in 4th. As fat as top speed, everything I read in magazines says 143. I haven't taken it that high so I don't know.

 

For whatever it's worth, there are quite a few relatively OEM ITR that will bounce off the limiter in fifth.

Although you'll find a lot of people to contradict this, in my opinion the stock bodywork and suspension is borderline at those speeds, and I really wouldn't recommend it.

It takes so long for a stock ITR to hit the limiter in fifth, honestly, that I can't even think of a road course where it would be possible.

I do happen to know one ITR that will get up around 140 before the braking zone for Turn 1 at Summit Main, however. 8)
