Is my tranny getting ready to take a sh!t?

Lately, (may be going on longer only noticed it recently) i've been noticing a distinct noise coming from inside my engine bay. It seems to be generally coming from my tranny.
It is a whine that does not go away when I press in the clutch or when im off it(don't think it is the TO bearing). It's always there. The noise varies depending on engine rev speed(possibly a fly wheel). and I can still hear it if I try to when the car is in motion.
Really hope this isn't what happened to Rob(Bbasso and his tranny woes)because i'm having a hard enough time paying for my car as it is and definately can't afford a tranny.
My clutch engagment seems to be the same as it always has been since I bought the car in June bone stock. My only mod is an AEM CAI.
Please help and don't confirm my fears
Thank you
PS. I also posted on Honda-tech but I know there are a lot of credible and knowledgeable members on itrca also I would really apreciate any responses

It might be one of your accessories, P/S, A/C or alternator, maybe even distributor. You can always take the belts off to see if the noise goes away.
check your trans fluid level, and change the fluid with Honda MTF.

ok i guess, unless all our tranny's are going to sh!t!

Can any one confirm or deny this? This is what I originally thought was the problem. However I didn't want to open my trany before I had the money for a JDM final drive!
my clutch squeaks and reverse really sucks, sometimes it will actually pop out of reverse and when it does it sounds like the tranny just fell apart. But Acura says that since there in no syncro for reverse that its normal
For the problems with reverse, I find it helps to "shift" (just move stick but not engage...
) to second before going into reverse to prevent the "misengaged" reverse. Also, don't try to move the stick into R if you are rolling back in neutral...
For the original post... it's not the click from the LSD is it?
