I've only seen one person with that big of a avatar, that's why I put up that sticky in the main discussion forum.

Any way, let me know Trey?

Can the actual forum code be altered to not allow the left hand table (where the username/title/avatar reside) to expand past 'x' pixels?

Well, I'm quite sure that phpbb has a function to limit the size of avatars, I've seen it at other phpbb sites. Then again, I ain't no web guru, so this could be a different problem.

ITRCA doesn't own the code.

The only thing that can be changed is the 60x60 pixel dimension and the 6000 byte total size.

That really seems big enough for an avatar, doesn't it?

Big enough for me. If I'm not mistaken, that is bigger than the avatar max size on H-T, which is more than adequate.

On honda-tech they keep their avatars on their server though, so that's how they limit them, once loaded, no matter how big the pic, it reduces it automatically.

As George said, we'll do what we can, and 60x60, I'm sure will be more than enough for everyone...

I believe phpbb is open source so we are allowed to modify the code. Problem is finding someone who can and has the time to write soemthing.

Also We have the ability to limit things but it does not limit linked avatars only uploaded. That said I can't seem to figure out how to get it to allow us to upload small avatars.

I am open for suggestions.

It's open source you can edit anything you wish as long as you do not remove the PHPbb copyright shit.

Oh and if you would allow me to have the chance I could post a smaller avitar...I was just testing at the time.

That should be a nice size. Most of the other boards I frequent that do allow avatars, don't let them get much bigger than 60x60.
