hey..well me and my friend just came back from racing..and there was no problems...we had put my friends stock 95 civic hubs on my car since we were gonna race alot...3 hours later we came back home..and it started to rain..no problems yet.....and we did a burn out in the rain we got thur 5th gear in the rain..and we parked...after like 5mins later..of just sittin and talkin in my car....we decided to leave...PROBLEM! so i put it into 1st gear..and started to go..when i left off the clutch..it like was releasing SLOWLY..so i was revving a lil bit..so i was like WTF? and when i tried to shift to 2nd it wouldn't let me..it felt like it locked 2nd gear to where i couldn't shift into it..so i could only go 1st to N....but when i turn off my car..i can shift all i want..to any gears.....but when the car is running..i can only shift to one gear and when i let go of the clutch i am not able to shift into the next gear..GUYS!! what is the problem?!??!??!.

 

Could have burned your clutch since you went through all 5 gears doing that burn out. Or possibly overheated the transmission doing the burnout.

 

This has happened to me before.... You burnt out yur clutch dood, If worst comes the worst its your tranny.... but i'm pretty sure its yur clutch...

Had the same senario, but only i redlined 1st going into 2nd.... couldn't get into 2nd and all... soo i was doing around 35-40 just coasting it down the street... soo i parked and tried to put it into 1st and couldn't soo i concluded that i had a HUGE paper weight.... It was 89 integra, my first car i learned to drive stick in

i can pretty much garentee you that you werent spinnin your tires through 5th you might have through third like i can but i dont think through 5th unless you are charged and when you hit 4th and 5th you thought you were spinnin and you just were burnin your clutch just like everyone else said

That reminds me of this video I saw that's based on a mastercard commercial. Shows a camaro and its like "thinking you're doing a burnout when you're really smoking your clutch, priceless" and it shows the camaro sittin there in a brake stand just smoking his clutch (smoke coming out from under the car, not the tires).

my guess is that one of the damper springs on the clutch popped out. get a new one anyway though
