Doesnt JE makes pistons with a compression ratio of 12.5:1? Is that CR streetable with 93 octane gas, aftermarket head gasket and aftermarket rods?

12.0:1 sounds about right. I wouldn't run too advanced timing on that high a cr.

the cheapest way to up your comp?? milling the head.

It's pointless to run 12.0:1 CR if you have no motor work done...I.E. headporting, valvetrain, milling the head...etc. 11.0 to 11.5 is good enough for a street car with mild to moderate mods.

You won't really feel much of a difference between 11.5 and 12:1 anyways. On 12:1 you can't run any advanced timing, in fact will probably require a degree or so retard on 91 octane to not detonate, but it's streetable.
