I wanted to know what you had heard that made you think that it was all that dangerous. You certainly don't want to blow up an HID bulb, but I have never heard of it happening.
I also gave you an email address of a friend from whom I was buying some HID, so you could ask him some specifics about installing HID carefully.
His name is Mike and he is at ipsracing2@aol.com
well dangerous as in you can get electricuted. I heard if you touch it or something you can die when it is plugged in. I'm not sure. I just want to get some info. i'll ask your friend about some things. Thanks
Obviously doing any electrical work involves risk, if you are hesitant about it have someone who knows what they are doing do it. Concerning painting a car the color of those wheels, I think that would be sick!

Regarding the paint code, I know George (and a number of others) have stated that it is Solaris Silver and this apparently matches very well. My personal finding was that the colour, at least for the '00 ITR, is Kaiser Silver and although I don't have the code at the moment, any dealer should be able to provide it over the phone. Incidently, I obtained this information from an Acura dealer when I inquired about replacement center caps. The caps were listed in the computer as "Kaiser Silver", and for what it's worth, the colour matched perfectly when I had my caps repainted using that code. Whether or not Honda actually used two different colours (one perhaps being Solaris) for the '00 and '01 wheels is something I'm not certain about, but it's definitely possible. I do know that when I examined the '01 wheels, the finish was distinctly different from my '00's, specifically in the texture on the sides of the spokes.
As for the danger of installing HID's, I think the concern is most likely related to the extremely high voltage that the ballasts can deliver, and the risks associated with that. However, following normal electrical safety procedures should be perfectly sufficient.
BTW - How's my spelling George? :goodjob:

Does anybody know for sure whether there's a difference in the silver between the '00 and '01 cars? Or is the previous report of Solaris Silver (vs Kaiser Silver) an error?
I don't think anybody's mentioned before that there's a difference in colour between the two years, and that's something to add to the detailed, useless information that people are always craving.
