Ive seen this done before. this guy had this tail lights wrapped in black panty hose. Worked very well. He stretched out as far as it could go and the lights shone very bright through it even during the day, but when the lights were off the looked solid black. I know it sounds pretty ghetto but i had no idea it was panty hose till i asked him how he did it.

hey it was just something i came across in my daily life a few years ago. I never said I would do it. And yes it was panty hose wrapped around the outside and then he placed the tail light into the SUV....I think it was an Amigo. Remember those LOL. Hey maybee you could be creative and use tan pantyhose...or even white to go with the paint :rofl: But seriously i posted that comment for a laugh...not a serious suggestion.

 

Hobby shop. Get a can of transparent smoke spray. I did a set of clear/reds outta all clears for my gf's civic. Also made a set of red/blacks with the factory ones that I replaced on her car. Check my sig for a lonk to pics of the civic with the tail lights.

Also, spray light coats, and be patient. If you did it the way I did, you get alot of frickin overspray that you'll see, I have to redo them when I get a chance.

 

Check out the NOPI online catalog. I'm confident GTS still makes the lexan blackout covers for many models of cars. Also be sure to check your state laws to see whether such a modification is legal.

 

i like my fully clear tails anyways...can't believe i was thinking of doing something some guy had on his amigo:ugh:
