Default LS/VTEC or N/A LS?

What do you guys think? I've heard alot of horror stories about LS/VTEC, and I've also heard alot of people say that the horror stories are from people who didn't do the conversion the right way. Let's assume that I was going to do the LS/VTEC the right way or I was going to build up a N/A LS for a daily driver. What do you guys think?

PS this will be with a YS1 tranny.

My friend just got ls/vtec and it has a lot of potential. I really like how he built such a strong na motor with all honda parts. His motor is almost as strong as my b18cr and we have about the same compression.

Done the right way ls/vtec can be just as good as any other motor.

Ah. Got it. Is it the same head with lower compression? Or are the pistons and cams the same with diff head?

Anyway... LS/VTEC or N/A LS?

I've heard that they are unreliable and that people often shoot rods through the block. I'm pretty sure that most of these stories come from people using stock LS internals, but can't account for all of them.
