Default Engine rebuild...

My 95 GSR has about 160K miles on it and it's time to be rebuilt. I want to use all Honda parts except for maybe some bolt on's or something. What do you guys suggest? I've heard that if i use an ITR exhaust cam with a CTR intake cam I will get a bit of extra power. Any truth to this? Also, I'd like to increase compression. What are the highest compression pistons Honda made for this engine? Anything else I should replace while I'm in there? I'm going to replace: cams, pistons and rings, t-belt, w-pump and gaskets... Oil pump? which gaskets do I need to collect? Thinking about getting cam gears (which one's) and pulleys (unorthadox good?) Thanks for any help guys...

if you want to get new internals, itr cams and ctr pistons are a good upgrade. while you're in there, new itr valvesprings and intake valves wouldnt hurt.

I read that ITR pistons are 11.1 compression while CTRs are 10.8. Are you sure CTR's would be better? also, is there any truth to that whole CTR/ITR cam combo? Thanks

jdm itr pistons will give about 11:1 and ctr will give about 12:1. 00-01 itr and ctr cams are the same thing. 97-98 itr cams had 3 degrees less duration than ctr's.

Okay, so here's my list of junk...
Cams, Pistons, P-Rings, TB gasket, T-Belt, W-Pump, Belt tensioner, (Gaskets...) intake manifold, exhaust manifold, cylinder head gasket, valve cover gasket, cam seals, valve seals, valve cover seals and grommets, injector seat o-rings, Oil pan gasket, Oil pickup unit gasket, Waterpump gasket, Main crank seal, various bottom-end o-rings (end gaskets), AEM pulleys, AEM cam gears, OEM spark plugs, Cap and Rotor, & Plug Wires...

Let me know what you guys think. What about an oil pump? Do they die easily? I need input before I go and spend this much $$$ please. I'm pretty ignorant, but haven't ever taken any of my vehicles to a shop and like to do my own work. I learn something new everytime!

The gasket list was compiled from www.inlinefour.com
