I'm still doing my google research on the LS/VTEC. That's definitely a motor you do not simply swap and forget about maintaining. However, it really sounds like the best of both worlds when properly installed and religiously maintained.

my friend is talking about going ls/vtec. im trying to convince him to go turbo instead. more power output with same amount of money input with turbo vs. ls/vtec.

But if you get an ls, turbo it instead of going LS VTEC. You will get a lot more power than going Ls/vtec. if you want a proper ls/vtec you gotta spend a lot of money, if you do it cheap, you'll blow it.

it depends on what you want, if you just want to go fast than get an ls and do it up....if you want the leather, nice rims, sunroof etc. , but also a quick car--then get the gs-r.

i think my car's fast enough, but that's just for everyday driving, i don't race it or anything.

The ls has a different engine than the gsr, right? Then why are you saying that if i want to go fast get an ls and if i want luxery items to get a gsr.

People tend to get confused and listen to people with LSs that are trying to feel better about them, who say they're better than GS-Rs...

A GS-R will always be faster than an LS for the same amount of money put into mods.

How are GS-Rs better than LSs?

Higher power engine
ABS system standard
lighter wheels
knock sensor on block
oil squirters to cool down pistons
Better transmission
Better stabilizers

If you want to go fast, get a GS-R, if you want luxury, get a Special Edition or a GS, if you don't want to spend that much, get an LS. Period

The way to go is this.

If you want a turbo then get a turbo

If you want a all motor/daily driver go LS/Vtec

Get a Type R head and put it on your LS bottom end, and get some stronger rod bolts for the LS block.
If you cant get a type r head get a b16 they flow better than GSR's head, than later down the road P&P your b16 head.

Best way to go is to get a B18c1 bottom end swap ITR pistions in, and get a ITR head. Like what i did, only in a super light CRX.

Good luck, you cant go wrong with the LS or GSR, both have many options. I say go LS and make a sleeper.
