Default More power out of my CRV/Vtec Motor...

I have a crv/vtec motor in my Honda Civic hatchback. The motor has rebuilt heas with stock internals and stock bottem end. im looking for more bottem end horsepower for faster low RPM's. My high rpm's rip all through vtec with my mugen ecu. How can I build my motor for the power I'm looking for? Heres a picture of my ride.

I hope you don't rev that over 6800 RPM. If you do, you are just begging for it to fail.

Honda = no bottom end. This cannot be fixed. A supercharger may help, but it will not cure the engine's lack of displacement.

That Mugen program is probably making you run rich. Have you had the car on a dyno yet?

Im sorry my head has been rebuilt by JG engine dynamics. It has all titanium internals and race valves. Stage 1 port and polish. I rev to 8,000 all teh time and it tears real hard. I bought the car used with teh work done. It has the JG stamped on the head so i know the work has been done. WHat pistons and rods should I install for more power?

I'm talking about the rods. The stock rods will be prone to failure at high RPM.

For good power, look into some JE forged pistons. Something that would bring you up to 11.5:1 would be nice. Crower rods would be ideal.

Shouldd I get pistons and rods? i will do crower probobly. Would I be able to install them myself? I have a pretty good knowledge about motors. Is there anything else i will need to buy? I was thinking about throwing some juice on it too. Thanks for the help also!

does crv/vtec have the same problem with r/s ratio as ls/vtec?

You really should get new rods. Pistons are good to replace, but if you plan on using nitrous oxide don't go for any high compression pistons.

Yes, if you consider it a problem. Both the B18A/B and the B20B/Z use the same basic block and the same crank and rod combo. Both have a 1.54:1 rod/stroke.

as mentioned before, watch the bottom end if you regularly run to 8000 rpm, engine speed = wear, so if you plan on that type of engine speed, keep changing the oil every 3000 miles.

yes I watch my oil and change it every 3,000 miles. I dont drive hard on the motor every day. You know just the occasional wanting to race or drive hard.

What compression am i running and what size pistons and rods do I have. Or how can I find out that stuff for my crv/vtec motor.
