More power out of my CRV/Vtec Motor...
What have you ran in the 1/4 mile??
My friends got a B20 (JDM) in his 89 CRX and he ran a 13.2 on street tires with filter on the end of the TB, header, header-back exhaust, FPR and 255lph pump.
Hes got nothing but bottom end, i think its the VTEC head that got rid of your bottom end. The stock B20 and B18 have bottom end cause because of their bad headflow. With that VTEC head the headflow is increased a lot and thats where your torque went. At least thats my theory??
My friend is useing the LS ECU, i guess thats why he cant rev past 6800rpm. He now has a ported/polished, bored over, 3angle valve job.............all that fun stuff.
Since you have a VTEC head i think that mugen ECU is fine. It might be running a little rich from idle to when the VTEC kicks in. That also might be where your bottom end has gone. It might be running too rich in the lower rpms making the engine bog.

as was already mentioned, stock b20 internals wont hold up to high revving for very long. Replacing those wont cure your lowend power problems, but it will keep your rods/bearings from failing.
And whoever said honda + bottom end = impossible, thats not really true. The B20 makes more wheel torque at 2000 rpms than a B18C1 makes anywhere in its powerband.

OK first off. That is the picture of my motor. My car was re-painted the SI blue. Thats is a cheap ebay strut bar. I did not buy it. it does it job so i am not worried. I am more worried about going faster!
Second, I have not run the quarter yet but i know it will hit low 13's. With internals i wanna hit high 12's. The car is very quick at its higher rpm's and i can spinthe wheels into 3rd gear easy!
ALso i plan to replace my stock pistons and rods. i wanna be safe running at high rpm's cause thats where my motor has most of its power. Tourque is good and this motor also. i have no complaints about this motor setup except i have a small oil leak and i am running rich in the low rpm's that make my cars idle choppy. If anyone can help with purchaseing cams for my setup i wold be thankful also! Thanks guys for you help!!!
