Default 1997 accord clutch replacement/ tranmission removal question

I need to replace my clutch soon, and I want to do it myself. I’ve read other posts about it, and I’ve looked at the Helms manual (well, one for a ‘94 accord). All of the write ups I’ve seen for most any year and model have basically the same steps. I was looking under my car last night to check everything out before I start ordering parts. There is one thing that looks like a problem, but I’ve never heard anyone else talk about it before. Maybe someone who has done it before can clarify.

How far do you have to separate the transmission from the engine before you can lower it? I'm asking because on my car, it looks like you could only pull the transmission away from the engine about 1/2" before it runs into the passenger side inner wheelwell/frame. Is there something I'm missing?

I dont want to get down to the last step and then have problems.
