Default Engine question?

What could cause an engine to loose top end power? Mine doesn't feel as quick as it used to top end.

I guess. The thing is made to do that though. What could be worn out or gone bad?

maybe you might want to think of redoing the head such as valves, reatainers, springs, cams etc..

yeh, get everything rechecked and tightened, at those high engine revs something might just be a little out of whack causing you to lose power, that and maybe you're used to it by now and are ready to up your engine to a b18

I would check the compression. Maybe there is a loss of compression due to ring wear. There could also be a large buildup of carbon on the pistons and combustion chamber that cause a loss of power. Another thing you could think about is if your fuel maps need to be adjusted to make power at high RPMs due to the wear of the engine.

thanks! I noticed another issue today. I would take it up hard in first and second and when I shifted into 4th off the gas going like 50 it would make a kind of loud tick sound once or twice while engine braking. It has never done this before. What could it be?

Also what are considered good compression and leakdown specs if I do test it?

What is the compression ratio? I don't know much about that engine, so I couldn't tell you without know the compression ratio you are running.
