I would check the compression. Maybe there is a loss of compression due to ring wear. There could also be a large buildup of carbon on the pistons and combustion chamber that cause a loss of power. Another thing you could think about is if your fuel maps need to be adjusted to make power at high RPMs due to the wear of the engine.
