Got My Motor In!!! Woo Hoo
Well everyone, I got my B18C1 in my '95 Civic Sedan DX FINALLY! After a year of building and patience, it's in.
I did run into a few problems that I need help with:
1) The driver's side GSR axle is too long. I can't get the lower ball joint into the control arm. Do I need to use the Civic half-shaft?
2) I got a GSR power steering pump and it fits the mount just fine, but the connection on the hose is different. Do I need to swap out the connecting hose?
3) I got the Del Sol VTEC AC motor mount stamped P52 (I think) and my AC compressor doesn't fit right. The compressor is to short and not wide enough to fit the mount. Obviously I need a new mount, but I was told to many times that this was the right mount by sooo many people. Could the DX be that different than the EX?
Obviouly someone out here has done a 5th gen GSR swap so please give me some info. Thanks!!!

Congrats:thumbup:
1) Keep messing w/ the axle. You will use all the parts from the GSR. SUre the one you have is from a teg?
2) I dont have power steering so I wouldnt know. Try swapping the hose or the fittings.
3) Del Sol bracket should line up. Make sure you have the right parts and are putting them together correctly.
Pics?

there are 2 del sol brackets. one from the 93-95 del sol and one from the 96-97 del sol. you've got to get the right one for your chassis. for your car, you need the bracket for the 93-95 sol. call honda, cuz i know there are 2 part numbers. make sure you've got the right one
I'm working on pics. I found out that the guy did send me the GSR bracket instead of the Del Sol (prolly my mistake cause I was in Italy at the time and wasn't looking at the car) so that's an easy, yet pricey - $120-, fix.
Also, I can use my Civic PS pump until I can get a GSR hose. Only 1 bolt will bolt up on the Civic ps pump and the adjuster screw is on the wrong side, but it will work until I can get that hose.
Finally, I don't think that I have the right axles. You guys remember how pissed I was when I got that motor cause it was missing all kinds of stuff so it doesn't surprise me that these don't work. I have Brian Wong sending me a new set.
I just have a couple of extra things to do and I'm set. I'll get those pics up ASAP!!
