Default Woo Hoo - Bought a Sol yesterday!

Well...I almost made the trek to New Hampshire today (6 hr drive, each way!) to have a look at a Yellow '93 Del Sol Si, but I was lucky enough to find a Red '93 Del Sol S M/T right here in my city yesterday!

I think I got a pretty good deal too:

6600 CDN (~4350 USD) and it's in mint condition for the year. Paint is good, interior is perfect, new summer/winter tires, new timing belt, new rad, new brakes, new distributor, new clutch and the owner was 50+ years old.

The car has 172,000 km's on it (107,000 mi) but it runs very well and has been regularly maintained. The guy also had a Porsche 944 and several other toys that look to be in perfect shape, so he seems to be a believer in regular maintenance.

It's a real base model though...no spoiler, no alum rims, no stereo, no A/C, but it will do. I figure I can find a good used spoiler and rims on here anyways!

-Rob

BTW, this is the SOHC 1.6L engine, right? 90-ish hp?

It's the D15, SOHC 1.5L engine. Congrats on finding that great deal.

Ya, wasn't that car featured on beaterz?

I think there's a batmobile version of a civic or something on there too.

I'd say my del Sol will only get as wild as changing the look from an "S" to an "Si".

Don't waste your time with stock aluminum rims when you'll get aftermarket ones 6 months later. Also, stock wings are over rated. Got through the summer without it, then decide... Trust me...

Default CONGRATS!!!!

Congratulations on your purchase...I bought myself a 93 White Del Sol S from an auction for about $3,500. It is in fair condition, w/ now about 140,000 mi on it. No A/C, and no power steering. I am planning on a swap soon, not sure when, but soon. Does yours come w/ power steering? Congrats again, and have fun w/ her!!!!!
