Default Can't get coolant to flow

I just replaced the radiator in my 95 integra. I have readded the coolant and can't get the coolant to flow to radiator. I have opened the petcock between the intake hose and the engine and let the coolant flow from it until it no longer sputters. I have done this 4 times and I still can't get the coolant to flow. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I dont get what you are talking about. You cant get the coolant to flow to the radiator? You mean the coolant doesnt go through your engine or something, maybe your thermostat is screwed. But it will only go through the engine at operating temp (unless the thermostat is broken).

But yeah i dont quite know what you mean.

Default Got air lock or something in coolant system.

I didn't have any problems with the cooling system until the hose connection on top side of the radiator broke the other day. I replaced the radiator and added new coolant mixture. According to the instuctions I should fill the radiator while bleeding the air out of the system. I have done this 4 times. Still the coolant in the radiator is cool while the coolant in the engine is hot. Both should be on the warm side. Maybe the thermostat is bad. Not sure at this point. How do I check it? Frustrating.

Well the only way i know if to check it is to take it out, it will be closed then.
You boil some water on the stove and drop the thermostat in and it should open, not too sure on what temperature it opens up on, but i bet if the water is like 200 degrees then it will open up.

Anyways a thermostat is probably 10 bucks so you can check it or just buy one. Wouldnt be such a bad idea if you just replaced your radiator.

have you let it idle?,

Keep a close eye on the temp guage while letting the engine idle. once it come to normal operating temprature the thermostat should pop open right away!!/ and if it doesnt and the car is about to overheat tuen the engine off right away and get a new thermostat.

the deal is that a cooling system is very simple. There are only a few components, and most are rather cheap to replace. do one at a time and everything should work properly.

-rad cap
-hoses
-rad
-waterpump
-thermostat
-fan relay
fan temp switch
