have you let it idle?,

Keep a close eye on the temp guage while letting the engine idle. once it come to normal operating temprature the thermostat should pop open right away!!/ and if it doesnt and the car is about to overheat tuen the engine off right away and get a new thermostat.

the deal is that a cooling system is very simple. There are only a few components, and most are rather cheap to replace. do one at a time and everything should work properly.
