I never ask these, but im really curious now.

A friend at work just bought a 91 Laser...16Valve DOHC (non-turbo), 5-speed.
He thinks he will eat my civic up. So i went for a ride with him to go get some mexican food , and it feels ALOT different from my civic, but i couldnt tell if it was faster. You guys think he will take my civic out? He has 153k, i have 109k. He grinded the gears about 4 times while i was riding with him, and he was launching really crappy. I think i can take him, but im not certain.

and i agree with the rules. hypothetically, if we were to race on the track tomorrow...same lane conditions, same driver skills, who should win?

he has 135hp, i should have around that...maybe a lil more.

You should have about 130 at the crank... You should also be called retarded for talking about shit like this... Take it to the track, stop with the hypotheticals, and aim for a number at the track, don't aim for what cars you can beat. That's just childish. A pissing contest of "my car is faster than your car!!!!" Why not make it "Damn, I improved my car a ton!!!!"?

:sqfawk: i could really care less what cars i can beat. i know my car isnt fast. i didnt want to know how fast my car is. i drive it everyday. this was more like..."hey has anyone ever raced one of these cars? is it gunna whoop on me?" i hardly ever race on the streets, and if i do, i definately do it safely. i'm not some punk kid, out racing every jackass that pulls up next to me.

i have been racing on the track for years. i go to firebird raceway(our track), atleast once a month, so kiss my ass.
